Supply of NiCd alkaline batteries for five sites with a capacity as follows:
10 sets each with a capacity of 100 Ampere Hours (A H). Each set shall be supplied complete with all needed accessories.
Technical Specifications:
1. Each battery set shall comply with IEC 61951-1 and shall comprise 40 cells, connected in series to provide, at the end of the complete discharge cycle minimum DC voltage of 44 VDC. The end voltage / cell shall be more than or equal to 1.1 volts at a 5 hour discharge period.
2. Battery cells shall be of high performance Alkaline Nickel Cadmium (I) type, with impact polystyrene translucent plastic case. The alkaline solution shall consist mainly from Potassium Hydroxide. Dilution of the alkaline electrolyte and topping up of the cells shall be carried out using distilled water only.
3. The number of cells per block shall not exceed two cells, and the cells shall be numbered consecutively, using durable labels, the polarity of each cell pole should be clearly engraved in the cover and marked with identifying cover (Red for +) Black for (-) and each block should be marked also with the following information:
Battery type and other specifying information
Max/Min level of the electrolyte
Year and Month of manufacture
4. The cell shall be fully charged and empty when shipped. The electrolyte shall be provided in a sealed anti corrosion containers, or in a dry form, ready to be dissolved by contractor in a distilled water. The electrolyte or distilled water shall be provided with test certificate. |
